Kids Are Jerks

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate kids. I love them, I have two of my own. I absolutely love being a mom and being around my kids. That doesn’t mean I always have to like them. Nor does that make me a bad mom.

Seriously kids are jerks. They can be sweet as pie one minute then turn on you like a rabid dog the next. If you think I’m wrong try going into a toy or candy store and refuse to get the little monster anything. You’ll see what I mean.

Take my 3 year old for example. I had to run to the store for some milk and other essentials the other day. My three year old decided to spend the entire time smacking, shoving, and elbowing his older brother. Why you ask? Because my oldest crotchfruit had the audacity to hold onto the cart like I asked.  No amount of warnings, threats, etc worked. He continued to do so the entire time. Needless to say when we got home he spent time in time out and got a privilege taken away.

Have you ever actually sat there and watched kids? They’re mean! One of these days while at the park or some other place kids infest you should watch them. They hit each other, throw shit at one another, bite, spit, etc. Sometimes it’s for no other reason that they looked at each other. Sometimes they don’t realize that they are being mean. Other times they stare at you directly while doing it.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate kids. I love them, I have two of my own. I absolutely love being a mom and being around my kids. That doesn’t mean I always have to like them. Nor does that make me a bad mom. Being a parent is the hardest job you will do, between trying to survive and make sure your kids don’t kill themselves or each other. Your only hope is that you raise your child well enough to where they don’t become assholes as adults. Or I should say that it’s my hope that my kids don’t grow up to be assholes.
